JobOS AI Tracker — Privacy Policy

1. Single purpose

The Extension has a single, narrow purpose: to help users save job posting details from job boards and company career pages into their JobOS application tracker. It extracts public job posting information (title, company, location, description, job URL, salary where available) and provides a one-click workflow to save that information into the user’s JobOS account.

2. Data we collect

• Website content (job posting data): job title, company name, location, job description, salary (if present), and the job posting URL.
• Local settings and preferences: API endpoint URL, API token (if the user enters one), and UI preferences. Stored locally in Chrome extension storage.

We do not collect passwords, email addresses, financial data, health data, or other PII.

3. How data is used

Job data and the current page URL are sent to your configured JobOS API endpoint when you click Save. Local settings are used only for authentication and convenience. Data is never used for unrelated purposes.

4. Data sharing

• No sale or transfer of user data to third parties.
• Data is only forwarded to the JobOS endpoint you configure.

5. Data retention

The Extension does not keep long-term copies of job data. Saved jobs are retained in your JobOS account according to its policies.

6. Security

API tokens are stored locally in chrome.storage.local. All scripts are packaged; no remote code is used.

7. Permissions explained

• activeTab: To read the current tab’s contents.
• scripting: To inject scripts that extract job information.
• tabs: To read the current tab’s URL.
• storage: To save user settings and API tokens locally.
• Host permissions: To allow extraction of job data from job boards and career sites.

8. User controls

You control when to save jobs. You can clear settings in extension options or uninstall to remove all local data.

9. Children’s privacy

The Extension is not intended for children under 13.

10. Changes

We may update this policy with a new effective date. Significant changes will be noted in the listing or release notes.
