JobOS AI Tracker — Privacy Policy

1. Single Purpose

The JobOS AI Tracker Chrome extension has a single, narrow purpose: to help users save job posting details from job boards and company career pages into their JobOS account. The extension only runs when the user explicitly clicks the extension to save a job.

2. Data We Collect

• Job posting data (user-initiated): job title, company name, location, job description, salary (if available), and the job posting URL from the current page.
• Local extension data: user preferences and configuration settings stored locally using Chrome extension storage.

The extension does not collect passwords, email addresses, financial data, health data, or other sensitive personal information.

3. Cookies & Authentication

The extension uses first-party authentication cookies from jobos.ai to verify that the user is logged into their JobOS account when making authenticated API requests.

Cookies are accessed only after user interaction and only for JobOS domains. The extension does not read, store, modify, or track cookies from third-party websites.

4. How Data Is Used

Extracted job data and the current page URL are sent to JobOS services only when the user clicks Save Job. Data is used solely to create and manage job entries in the user’s JobOS account.

5. Data Sharing

• No sale, rental, or transfer of user data to third parties.
• Data is transmitted only to JobOS services required for extension functionality.

6. Data Retention

The extension does not retain long-term copies of job data. Saved job information is stored and managed according to JobOS platform policies.

7. Security

All extension scripts are packaged with the extension; no remote code execution is used. All communication with JobOS services occurs over secure HTTPS connections.

8. Permissions Explained

• activeTab: Allows access to the current tab only when the user clicks the extension.
• scripting: Injects a lightweight script to extract job details after user action.
• tabs: Reads the active tab’s URL to save the job link.
• storage: Stores user preferences locally.
• cookies: Authenticates the user with JobOS using first-party cookies only.
• Host permissions: Limited to JobOS domains and supported job boards, used only during user-initiated actions.

9. User Controls

Users control when the extension runs. All locally stored data can be removed by clearing extension data or uninstalling the extension.

10. Children’s Privacy

The extension is not intended for children under the age of 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date.
